Strengthening Women’s Leadership and Peacebuilding in Tarmaber Woreda\\r\\nIn May 2026, Universal Community Development Organization (UCDO) successfully conducted a capacity building training in Debresina Town, Tarmaber Woreda, under the project “Enhancing Participation, Representation, and Leadership of Women in Peacebuilding and Decision-Making Processes.”\\r\\nThe training brought together 40 participants drawn from government institutions, women led associations, community based organizations, youth groups, traditional and religious leaders, women peacebuilders, and representatives of persons with disabilities. The initiative aimed to strengthen knowledge, skills, and confidence related to women’s leadership, participation, representation, decision making, conflict resolution, mediation, advocacy, and peacebuilding.\\r\\nThrough interactive learning sessions, practical exercises, group discussions, and experience sharing, participants enhanced their understanding of inclusive governance, gender responsive peacebuilding, and the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. The training also fostered stronger collaboration among community stakeholders and local institutions to promote meaningful participation of women and marginalized groups in peace and security processes.\\r\\nThis activity was implemented by UCDO with technical leadership and coordination support from TIMRAN Project Support and financial support from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom. The training contributes to building more inclusive, peaceful, and resilient communities in Tarmaber Woreda by empowering women to take active leadership roles in community dialogue, peacebuilding, and local decision making processes.\\r\\nEmpowered women are essential partners in building sustainable peace, inclusive governance, and stronger communities.\\r\\n
